“Animal Farm” Character’s Symbolic Meaning Paragraph

In the story "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, the character Mr. Jones represents being despicable. For example, he always resorts to drinking and often treats the animals with cruelty. He left them starving most days and often worked them into extreme labor. This shows that he was vile and shouldn't have been in the hands of those poor animals. He was a lazy farmer who cared more for his own satisfaction than he did for the well being of the animals that produced on his farm In addition, he also quoted "Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving and the rest he keeps for himself". This shows that he was very apathetic and uncompassionate. That’s when Old Major wanted to end all that and sought to remove him from power by taking over the farm. People who are despicable deserved to be despised and are obnoxious, which what Mr. Jones exactly was.

Animal Farm to the Real World

In the story Animal Farm by George Orwell, the animals who sought out taking over the farm has allegorical meaning. For example, they all thought it would be a good idea because it could be the start of a more suitable life. This represents the struggle for leadership such as the Stalin-era in Russia. The hard times in the book are true to life, such as Stalin's efforts to force Soviet farmers onto collective farms led to poverty caused many deaths in the country. The story is related to the Holocaust because Napoleon, like Adolf Hitler,attempted to gain power over the farm, which is a similar situation to the Holocaust.

Additionally, Old Major desired for the animals to be free of injustice. This also represents organizations such as PETA, who advocates for animals and their rights. Old Major’s dream started the whole animalism and rebellion, which is furthermore parallel to communism.  I believe every living thing should be treated with equality and not just be mistreated and slaughtered brutally. They should have advantages as well as humans do. Even though most stories about animals are written for children, they can have examples of allegory while being amusing to read at the same time.

“Animal Farm” Revolution at SPA

One day, Elizabeth was walking to school and all of a sudden students from left to right were running around acting immature. When she asked one of her friends, Alyssa, what was going on. Her friend told her everyone was rebelling against the school and was going crazy. This was a shock to Elizabeth, because she thought the staff would’ve stopped these children by now. But as she turned the corner, exiting from the girls rec, it seemed like the whole campus was non compliant. There was food being thrown at staff, fights everywhere, and kids running off with SPA property such as keys.

Then, one of the students named Dustin stopped to talk to her. “What in the world is going on here?” Elizabeth asked, “Why is everybody acting like this?”. Dustin answered sadly, “You didn’t hear?”. She shook her head. “They were planning on making this place into a lock down facility since all the kids were bringing drugs onto the campus” he answered. This infuriated Elizabeth but she heard sirens so she wasn’t trying to get involved in the whole mess.

In the end, the whole campus was ruined and all the staff didn’t know what to do. Cars, t.v.’s, and computers were stolen. Even furniture was thrown all over the place, it was surreal. Staff and students were crying and injured, but most of the kids were gone. The police finally arrested more than half of the campus and everyone had to leave the premises. The scene was pretty sad, but in the end there was no point to it because nobody won in the end.
